Ramdat - "Maat Mons" LP

Regular price $24.00

(Ramble Records)

Australian import. Limited edition black vinyl.

Ramdat formed as a trio of guitar, saxophone and drums in Athens in  2016 exploring a wide variety of influences to create an abstract combination of prog rock, jazz, ambient, punk and experimental music.

Maat Mons is their fourth studio album and continues with high octane jazz rock-free improv, heavy riffage with a strong punk aesthetic. Adding keyboardist Dimitris Ventourakis to their lineup, Maat Mons continues the quartet's fascination with space. The title refers to a massive shield volcano on the planet Venus which was named after the Egyptian goddess of truth and justice, Ma'at. The tracks were also appropriately named by Dimos anVentourakis and are following a loose story concept of Dimos' that journeys through exploration, loss, humour, menace and detachment.

Maat Mons is an immersive deep space experience and will sit nicely in the collection next to Larry Coryell, Sun Ra, King Crimson, Herbie Hancock and Miles electric era.
